Kevin Merkley has taught kindergarten through OAC music at Ashton Meadows Public School, North Toronto Collegiate Institute in the Toronto District School Board, Ventura Park Public School in Thornhill, and strings at Unionville Meadows Public School with the York Region District School Board. He is was music and literacy consultant for the York Region District School Board but is currently Vice-Principal at Aldergrove Public School in Unionville, ON.
Kevin has faciliated presentations for both York Region District School Board and the Ontario Music Educators' Association (OMEA). Kevin is a graduate of the Faculties of Music and Education, University of Toronto. Kevin is the Past President of the OMEA having previously served on the Board of Directors OMEA as Vice President, Regional Workshops, and Membership Director. Kevin now serves the OMEA board as Secretary, is the Past-President of the Arts Education Consultants of Ontario (ARTSECO) and was Chair of the ETFO Arts Committee. He has been a writer and lead writer for the Revision of the Ontario Elementary Music Curriculum, Think Literacy 1-6, 7-9 and 10-12 and for the Ontario Music Educators' Association Revised Music Curriculum resources project.
